A builder that does the work itself
Fortress Group Ltd is a residential building company based in Auckland. We renovate bathrooms, kitchens and whole homes, add extensions, and build new houses and townhouses – from the North Shore to South Auckland.
Our Managing Director, Henry Sohn, is a Licensed Building Practitioner in Carpentry, and our team includes a Master Plumber and a Master Electrician. Our own team of more than ten people looks after the carpentry, painting, materials and day-to-day running of each site, working alongside licensed plumbers, electricians and trusted subcontractors.
We have built townhouse developments with partners such as Precise Homes, and we take on single-room renovations with the same care.

- Payments that follow the buildPayment claims are tied to the stages of the build and the council inspections.
- Changes agreed before they happenAnything you add or change is priced and approved in writing first.
- Consent and inspections handledWe manage the building consent and book every council inspection.
- Licensed tradesPlumbing and electrical work is done by licensed tradespeople.
- Building Act paperwork done properlyFor jobs over $30,000 you get the written contract, disclosure statement and checklist before work starts.
- Insured building workFortress carries insurance for the building work we do.
- A reply within one working dayEvery enquiry gets an answer from us within one working day.
